Dans une petite ville française de montagne dominée par un immense barrage, les habitants abasourdis voient des membres disparus de leur famille revenir à la vie : le même jour, des personnes de tous âges, parfois décédées depuis des années, reprennent le cours de leur existence sans aucun souvenir de leur mort.
